RWL partner Chuck Fax has been invited be speak at the annual conference of the Lawyers for Civil Justice, which is being held in Washington, D.C. on May 4 and 5, 2017. The panel is titled “The Future of Discovery” and Fax will be joined by Vanderbilt University law professor Brian Fitzpatrick. They will be discussing trending discovery topics such as the impact of proportionality, cost shifting and case management. The panel is scheduled for 9:15 am at the St. Regis Hotel on May 4, immediately following the conference’s keynote address which will be given by Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT), chair of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee and former chair of the U.S. Judiciary Committee.
Fax is co-author (with U.S. District Judge Paul Grimm and Paul Mark Sandler) of the highly-regarded treatise, “Discovery Problems and Their Solutions” (ABA Pub. 2013), set to appear in its fourth edition next year. Since 2008, Fax has also authored a regular column on “Updates in Civil Procedure” in the quarterly magazine of the ABA Section of Litigation, “Litigation News.” The Lawyers for Civil Justice is a national association of leading corporate counsel and defense bar practitioners whose goal is to streamline the civil justice system in the interests of efficiency and economy.
