RWL Client Zia Integrated, LLC Awarded Stage One Medical Cannabis Processor License

April 1, 2021 – Today RWL client Zia Integrated, LLC was awarded a Stage One Medical Cannabis Processor License by the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission.

Zia submitted its application in May 2019, which was denied by the Commission in October 2020.  Zia retained RWL to appeal that decision to the Office of Administrative Hearings, with RWL partner Stuart Cherry as lead counsel.  A trial was held over four days in August 2021 with RWL partners Stuart Cherry and Scott Livingston representing Zia.  On October 25, 2021, Administrative Judge Robert Levin found in favor of Zia and on April 1, 2022, the full Commission voted to adopt Judge Levin’s decision and to award the Stage One license to Zia.
